Privacy Vs Security - Which will make home safe?

I have recently read a book on garden landscaping and what caught my attention is on a page that explains how privacy is not the same as security. I would also like to contribute some of my thoughts to this topic by further differentiating privacy and security. Hopefully this will make you aware of how vulnerable our home and garden can be to intruders and take necessary measure to counter them.

It is important and essential to introduce privacy to allow us enjoy quiet time together with our family without the prowling eyes from the street or neighbors. Some families tends to erect privacy fences around the yard or strategically plant tree. However such structures does not discourage break-in by intruders who can choose to climb over the fences and trees at night when visibility is the poorest. Most people take very little precaution against such incidents and thought privacy is sufficient till it happens on them. So what form of security is ready adequate for homes?

In my opinion, it is vital to enhance security through internal home security system and external home security system. An interior home security system has the ability to provide sensor detection for forced break-in especially in the most vulnerable areas namely windows and doors. The alert should also have an option to link to nearest Police station to will check out your house immediately, especially when you are away from home.

On the the hand, an exterior home security systems suppose to provide a second level of security while you are at home. Common exterior security system are motion detectors and flood lights. When an intruders attempt to penetrate your compound, motion sensor lights will light up automatically to scare off the intruders and alert you immediately. Motion Sensor Stainless Steel Pole Solar Light is highly recommended for homes as this device can easily be installed in remote area where there is no access to power supply. Another option is to install a wireless internet camera that can automatically snap photo or record video of the intruders once movement is detected. Both Motion Sensor Stainless Steel Pole Solar Light and wireless internet camera can work hand in hand to deter and detect intruders.

In conclusion, security is crucial to protect your property and love ones. Enjoy quality family time with home security system truly give you a peace of mind. Do not trade out security with privacy as the latter is powerless against the invasion of a true intruders. Act now before intruders have their chance.

How To Go Green in Landscape Lighting for homes with Solar Lights in 6 Key Areas

Landscape lighting for homes requires careful planning in order to reduce cost of maintenance and to minimize both household and environmental hazard in the long run. Do you know the most cost effective way to design home landscapes? I highly recommend to go green in landscape lighting with the help of various types of solar lights.

Why use Solar lights as landscape lights?

1. Solar lights offer free, natural and safe source of landscape lights. In choosing landscape lights for homes, it is crucial to ensure safety and also consider availability of power source for lighting.

Especially when kids are around, we must ensure there are zero hazards of exposing live wire.

Every solar light has its own portable power sources stored in rechargeable batteries. To charge up these batteries, simply fully expose its solar cell or panel to sunlight and in turn is stored up 8 to 10 hours of solar power. Hence there is no need to worry about finding wired power source and no live wire hazard.

What's more, solar power is the greener source of energy that does not contribute to air pollution and greenhouse effect traditionally present in coal/fossil generated power. Since it is free and natural, we should learn to make full use of it just like plants do.

2. Solar lights merges Landscape lighting with decorative style. Nowadays, solar lights have greatly evolved itself to the stage where it can serve as decorative items besides lighting.

You just need to plan for solar landscape lighting that can also blend into the specified theme, such as exotic garden landscape, modern looking landscape or simple home landscape.

They are also lasting as they run on LED bulb and its body is made of materials that are both water and corrosion resistant. It truly marries both style and flexibility.

Here are 6 Key Areas to go green in your landscape lighting for homes with Solar Lights:

1. First key area to go green is house number. Instead of putting a plain house number that runs on dry battery or electrical power, you can choose various colourful solar house numbers from floral and butterfly style to decorative rock style. These style makes you house looks more welcoming and cheerful in the daytime.

At night solar house numbers will light up automatically when it detects darkness. You can have a peace of mind finding your house easily at night especially when it is in a dimly lit area.

2. Second key area to go green is fence lights that act as a "lighthouse" to every passing traveler at night.

You can install with Solar Fence Lights that comes with different styles ranging from plastic copper to stone style to match specified colour and style of your fences or gates. At night, it will self-illuminated when low light is detected.

3. Third key area to go green is the walkway. Solar Pathway Lights brighten the path from main gate to doorstep as it can by self-illuminating when the surrounding turns dark.

In time of sudden black out at night, solar pathway lights are really life saviors that will lead you to the gates safely.

For more stylish solar pathway lights, you can consider solar deck pyramid lights that can be placed on any rise platform instead of ground.

4. Fourth key area to go green is Surveillance Alert. Home owner normally takes security seriously only after their house has been broken in.

To give them a peace of mind, it is recommended to install a Motion sensor solar post lights near trees or other structures that intruders can use to sneak into the home compound.

These solar lights sense any passing object within 5 feet distance and brighten itself up. No matter rain or shine, it is able to watchfully search your household for intruders.

5. Fifth key area to go green is decorative ornament for front door area

Pets always bring warm and comforting feeling to home owners. With the life-size structure from various animal solar lights, both pet owners and non pet owners can enjoy this feeling.

You can place each of these life-size dogs at the doorstep or gates holding a lantern as if it is always looking forward to see its owner come home. Popular choices of dogs among home owners are Boxer Dogs, Dalmatian Dogs and Labrador Dogs.

6. Sixth key area to go green is the Festive landscape Lighting that brings joyous mood to every household during Christmas and New Year. These solar lights can be turned on as and when it is needed or let it lights up automatically when the surrounding is darkened.

With all initiatives for going green in landscape lighting easily available, it is time for every household to play a part to reduce the emission of greenhouse gas to our atmosphere. Greenhouse gases are blamed to cause extreme weather conditions that affecting both America and Europe badly in past and current winter months. If we continue to increase greenhouse gas, it is no doubt that the extreme weather will become more frequent and spread to many other countries, thus causing tremendous loss of business and life. A tiny effort from our part in every household can add up to a billion act of green that could reverse the current trend of greenhouse effect.
